Nerdy Homeware Wishlist*

We are getting closer and closer to our move in date and the excitement is getting to me. I've been spending a lot of time looking at interior design ideas* on Pinterest and grabbing ideas from Etsy as to what to do when I finally have a space to call my own. Of course, with rented property there is a limit as to how much we can alter so the main thing to spruce up a rented property is with little flourishes of homeware goods. Here are my current Etsy wants if money were no object:

Cake Stories, Jesmond

I have to share with you the absolute magic that is Cake Stories. Why have I not seen other blog posts about this? Either I'm really late to the party or no one knows about this gem of a place. It appeared like a dream, we were in the area about to have a coffee stop at a different cafe further down the street but Cake Stories just looked too whimsical and wonderful not to visit. So we did. And I know I'm not the biggest foodie blogger (these posts are wonderfully rare these days) but I've never been MORE excited about cake (which is saying something, I get excited about cake a lot)

Lush Unhaul and Giveaway

THIS GIVEAWAY HAS ENDED

Now I am not the biggest beauty blogger out there but I have a huge soft spot for Lush products (I mean, who doesn't?) and always end up with too many to use. It happens. Recently, I was sorting through all the things I've accumulated over Christmas and my birthday and realised I have things that I have no intention of using but are still in really good shape.

Where to Find Inspiration for Blog Posts

Charline Has a Blog
Last year I guested on Charline Has a Blog's #NoteToSelf series after she most graciously helped me when I needed guest bloggers to cover my New Zealand trip. This post first featured on Charline Has a Blog, 20th May 2015.

#BOUTOFBOOKS 16

From May 9th to the 15th I decided to take part in my first ever #boutofbooks readathon! Going in, I had no TBR list, or at least not a permanent one and the only goal I had was to up my book count to get ahead of schedule for my target of reading 52 books in 2016. An update on my progress with that. On the first day of the challenge my Goodreads had me at 24 of 53 (because I had to add a DNF to my read list and it felt like cheating for that to count towards my 52 for the year so I upped the target. Here's a bit of a log of what I got up to during the readathon.

Seed by Lisa Heathfield

I judged this book by it's cover, guilty as charged. Basically, it was shiny so caught my eye so I took a mental note that I had to read this at some point. Lo and behold, I read it towards the end of last year and am only just getting around to writing my review. Since it's been some time, I'll probably be overly vague in order to compensate for my shit memory.

Book Series I Want to Read Next

I keep thinking back to November and December, when I was reading the Lunar Chronicles, loving how much of a simpler time it was. Just losing myself in a series, what a life. As a reader, I'm notorious for choosing one offs or not finishing series because I'm impatient. I don't want to read thousands of pages to find the happily ever after! So here it is, in writing, that I want to dedicate some of my future reads to series. And yes, there will be some on this list that will absolutely shock you because I haven't read it. Try and stay composed ;)
