My Tattoo Timeline

I really want to open up more on my blog and get all personal but I'm so awkward about it I have no idea what to write that is "personal" and I'm definitely not one to jump in the deep end and talk about like, sex or whatever. Instead, I thought I'd do a post on my tattoos, inspired by Illustrated Teacup's Tattoo Timeline (which she posted in August 2014 but has stuck with me all this time - I knew as soon as I read it I wanted to do something similar).

Dewey's 24 hour Read-a-thon April 2015

If you follow me on Twitter you might have seen me mentioning a 24 hour read-a-thon before mumbling nerd and carried on scrolling. Yes, I have very recently taken part in Dewey's 24 Hour Read-a-thon! The first rule of Read-a-thon is: you do not talk about Read-a-thon. Ha, okay. I just wanted to use the quote, and the truth is the exact opposite. You read as much as you can in 24 hours whilst blogging, tweeting and updating your Goodreads.

Fiona vs Matthew: Games We Love to Play #Fandom5

I'm mixing it up a little this Fandom Friday and getting a little help from Matthew, the boyfriend. He's starting to get a little involved with my blogging and I think he secretly loves it. So we're going to do a little series: a "Fiona vs Matthew" series where we compare our favourites of different things: films, food and in this case games! Feel free to leave comments about whose side you're on, we love competition.

The Brownie Bar, Newcastle

Recently the boyfriend and I wandered in to town with a sweet tooth and a want to try somewhere new. That's when we decided to give The Brownie Bar a visit. the Brownie Bar is in Eldon Square, tucked away near the start of Eldon Gardens. I've had a friend work with them before (for dissertation type things) and he said it was amazing. My mother-in-law came home one day with a cookie that had a brownie center (sounds too good to be true, I know) which I got a taste and it confirmed the amazing things I'd heard.

My Top 3 Travel Bucket List Destinations

You no doubt know I love to travel. Even little weekends away to other cities are exciting adventures for me, so when I heard Transun are hosting a competition to go and see the Northern Lights I got super excited (remember my 101 in 1001 days list? Number 76 is to see the Northern Lights, I have been dying to see the magic lights in the sky). Click the link above for details of the competition for your chance to enter too! Here are my Top 3 Destinations I would love to visit:

My Favourite A Very Potter Musical Moments

Okay, Potter fans, if you haven't watched A Very Potter Musical (AVPM) already then I highly advise you take a good 3 hour break from whatever you're doing and watch that now. It's fantastic. Today I want to share my favourite moments from AVPM so you'll get a taste of how great it is if I didn't sell it to you in that sentence. I've went in to gif overload and I know this isn't tumblr so it's a bit weird but I'm sorry, I just want to share this so bad! (I'm sure I've accidentally slipped some AVPS gifs in too, my apologies)

Recent Reads Reviews | #1

Welcome to a new little mini-series of mine that I'm starting called Little Book Reviews where I'll review 3 or 4 books with a theme. All spoiler-free(because there are twists so good that if you go in to them with your mind pre-blown it's like, what is the point?) Today the theme is simply Young adult and I think it just so happens that the authors are both American too.

Red's True BBQ, Leeds

Remember absolutely ages ago when I said I went to Leeds for the weekend (the last weekend of February to be exact) well, I'm finally getting around to writing up that adventure! The highlight of that weekend, and maybe the only reason we visited Leeds, was to sample the glorious food of Red's. When we approached there was a queue out the door (this is just before 6pm on a Saturday!) and we almost weren't able to get a seat. Luckily, since it was just the two of us, we were able to squeeze in at a window sit.

5 Magic Items I NEED in my Life #Fandom5

It's Friday and isn't everyone just so excited for the weekend? (Everyone except us who work  on weekends where it's just more work days). Fridays are the best because I get to bring out a 5 Fandom Friday post, and let's face it, they're my favourite!

16 Paranormal Novel Recommendations

I always have a secret urge to read paranormal novels but I don't have much experience with them and my to read list is so long and only grows longer as time goes on (you can keep up with me on Goodreads). So I did a little research to see what kind of paranormal novels are out there.

I've done a few of these recommendation posts now so you'll know the drill. If you're a new reader however (hey, how's it going!) just a heads up to say all of the images and little teasers are from Goodreads so if something intrigues you click on the link to find out more!

11 More Disney Cat Names for your Fur Baby (1980's-90's)

Funnily enough I have nothing better to do than sit and organise cat names and since my previous posts (looking at Disney films from the 1940-1960's and the 1970's) so here are some more! This time we're looking in to the 1980's-90's (and a lot more bad guys too)

The Sin Eater's Daughter by Melinda Salisbury

I was attracted to this book for a number of reasons. Firstly, the cover. It's intoxicating and beautiful with it's bright colours and shiny text (and don't get me started on the font, I want that font on my tombstone) and my camera does not do it justice.
