Classic Christmas Movies #Fandom5

I know it isn't Friday but I'm posting this early because I'm so excited for Christmas! It is definitely okay to be watching Christmas films now! Here are my Top 5 for this time of year that instantly make Christmas feel Christmassy.

Elf (2003)

Santa's Coming!! I know him. Elf is top of my list. I don't know if there is a better Christmas film out there that is as funny and heart warming as this. I can quote almost every one of Buddy's lines and I manage to quote them throughout the year to spread a little Christmas cheer. Even if I have seen this hundreds of times already I still laugh out loud at Buddy's antics.

The Grinch (2000)

Another hilariously good Christmas film with so many quotes! The early 2000's were obviously all about making good Christmas films with excellent scripts. The Grinch is another one that my boyfriend and I constantly quote to one another. I used to not think much of this version of The Grinch but after watching it a million times together it's another favourite.

Scrooged (1988)

Bill Murray, the legend, is our scrooge in Scrooged. A hilarious adaptation of A Christmas Carol. There is a scene where the ghost of Christmas Present is showing Bill Murray what is happening around him and it will always remind me of my dad because every time our ghost of Christmas Present, with her sweet voice and fairy dress, punches Bill Murray my dad laughs. If you've not seen it yet, make it happen. It's awesome.

The Santa Claus (1994)

If Scrooged reminds me of my dad, then The Santa Claus reminds me of my mum. I don't even know if this is her favourite Christmas film but we always watch it and I always think of her. Not to mention it has Tim Allen and he is such an awesome guy. Sure, he voices Buzz Lightyear, but did you see this guy on Home Improvements? Me and my brother used to watch it in the morning and boy did we howl!

The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)

Every single year I watch The Muppet Christmas Carol. It is the definition of Christmas films. Another adaptation of A Christmas Carol (because there aren't enough of those) but this is another heart warming one that I've loved since childhood. It's a must for Christmas Eve when there is only one more sleep till Christmas Day.

  3. I love your list. It's so much fun to quote Buddy or the Grinch ("But what would i wear?!"). And Muppet's Christmas Carol is probably my all-time fav! I love when Gonzo calls Rizzo an idiot. ANd though I watch it multiple times, I always have to watch it on Xmas Eve just to sing along with Kermit - "there's only one more sleep 'til Christmas...."

  4. Ah, Christmas films - always so much fun! Elf would be at the top of my list as well, Will Ferrell was seriously perfect as Buddy.
