Pet Lamb Patisserie, Newcastle

Something exciting happened this weekend just gone. My lovely boyfriend had his birthday and as a special treat to himself he got some Pet Lamb Patisserie cupcakes to celebrate. I was thrilled with his decision, I've only heard great things about Pet Lamb Patisserie and now I know why.

Back left, Double Choc: "Chocolate sponge topped with a decadent chocolate buttercream and a chocolate button"; back right, Salted Caramel: "A light vanilla sponge and frosting, filled and drizzled with our favorite salted caramel sauce"; Front left, Oreo: "A chocolate sponge with an oreo surprise topped with creamy vanilla frosting and half an oreo cookie."; Front right, Ginger which i couldn't find any info from their website from and also didn't get to sample so it's a bit of an enigma I'm afraid.

So the boyfriend and I shared the Double Choc and the Oreo cupcakes and they were phenomenal. I can't choose my favourite of the two that's for sure. The Double Choc I had first and it was chocolatey delight, the buttercream frosting was fantastic. Then the Oreo which surprised me, so it's wonderful chocolate sponge with the wonderful frosting again but then SPOILER ALERT there was a secret hidden oreo at the bottom of the sponge!! I definitely ate these too quickly and I am desperate to get more in the near future.

"All of our cakes are lovingly baked in our very own kitchens using our own fair hands. Using only the finest, free range ingredients, as we believe happy animals make extra happy cakes, we aim to make each and every cake as special as the tummy it will be filling." As well as cupcakes, they do giant cakes, brownies and all sorts - you can find out more about them here. We also got a cheeky Nutella brownie to share which I didn't snap a shot of but was so moist (even four days after purchase) and had a generous dollap of Nutella in the middle.

Fellow North East Bloggers definitely need to give Pet Lamb Patisserie a visit. They are located in the Grainger Market (Unit 19) but double check their opening times because I visited on a Monday and found the shop closed and was well and truly gutted! Go and treat yourselves to glorious cakes!
